About

David Vance started his musical journey in the late 70’s, heavily influenced by bands such as The Eagles, ELO, Styx, Journey, Toto, Rush, Def Leppard, Pat Benatar and Boston. Throw some early Eighties New Wave music, Nineties Grunge, 2000’s Emo and Pop Punk into the cauldron and you have a pretty eclectic mix of sounds and styles brewing to inspire his sonic muse. After a hiatus from music, he is back to claim his place among the Rock confederacy.

A lover of nearly every musical genre, David uses this open attitude towards melody and structure to guide the song writing process. Always a sucker for a well written melody and hook, David looks to write songs that are both infectious and thought-provoking. He finds that channeling emotion is the greatest impetus to discovering the right groove and tone for a song.

His debut song “Beginnings” is an instrumental, starting off with a jazz-like verse, transitioning to melodic rock. It was inspired by the airiness of open chords and the driving feel of rock music. Enjoy!
